Today’s world is familiar with the name of the current Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. And that is because of his endless support for the suppressed and lambasting of oppressors.
Bravery, courage, and truthfulness are reflected in the entire life of the Turkish President.
Nobody knew that this son of a coastguard, selling lemonade and sesame buns to teenagers within Istanbul’s streets, will become a proud son of the soil (Turkey) one day.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan-A ray of hope to oppressed
Whether US President Donald Trump’s decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem or the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims by the Myanmar Army, Tayyip Erdogan arises as to the front line defender Muslims.
He showed admirable mettle in these crises.
He lashes out at oppressors in such a way that other Muslim Leaders of the current era could never dare.
Within Rohingya Refugee Camps at Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh, there is the sight of a white crescent and star on a red background. The Turkish flag symbolises many things: meals, blankets, health facilities and many other necessities for shelter.
Moreover, on the international stage, Tayyip Erdogan has bitterly condemned Israel for its treatment of the Palestinians.
The Reconciler
Qatar fell victim to the Saudi Arabian bloc’s blockade in June 2017. Tayyip Erdogan openly stood with Qatar from the very first day. Turkey provided hundreds of thousands of tons of food and other necessities. And Tayyip Erdogan is still trying for reconciliation among these former friends.
Recently, former US President Donald Trump accused Pakistan of supporting the Afghan Taliban. In addition, he announced that he would freeze nearly all military aid to Pakistan, roughly $1.3 billion annually. Erdogan decried the US move and accused the US and Israel of meddling in Pakistan.
Reforms by Tayyip Erdogan within Turkey are also matchless. Tayyip Erdogan owes much of his popularity to economic stability. With an average annual growth rate of 4.5% which is incredible.
Certainly, Turkey has become a manufacturing and export powerhouse. His government kept inflation under control – no mean feat, as there were years in the 1990s when it skyrocketed above 100%.
Critics blame him that he is vying for Muslim leadership. Still, these critics don’t encourage other Muslim leaders to flex their muscles in the same way or at least follow his footsteps. So it is not hyperbolic to say that Tayyip Erdogan is a visionary and charismatic leader of the Muslim World.
